Pipe fittings are various accessories used to connect pipes into a pipeline system, enabling the connection and extension of pipes. There are numerous types of pipe fittings, and some of the commonly used ones are as follows:

1. Fittings for Changing Pipe Direction:

• These include 90° elbows, 45° elbows, and 180° return bends. Their primary function is to alter the direction of the pipeline.

2. Fittings for Connecting Two Pipes:

• These fittings serve to join two pipes together. Examples include internal threaded pipe fittings (commonly known as "internal threaded pipes, pipe clamps, or sleeves"), external threaded pipe fittings (known as "external threaded pipes or couplings"), union fittings (also called "unions"), and flanges.

3. Fittings for Connecting Branch Pipelines:

• These are used to connect branch pipelines to the main pipeline. Examples include various types of tees, such as straight tees, reducing tees, and cross tees.

4. Fittings for Changing Pipe Diameter:

• These fittings are designed to connect pipes of different diameters, allowing for a change in the pipe's diameter. Examples include reducing pipes (commonly referred to as "reducers"), internal and external threaded adapters (also known as "reducing bushings"), and reducing elbows.
